OVERVIEW: Under the supervision of the Clinical Program Manager,
Lead/Urgent Response Supervisor the Urgent Response Therapist provides
urgent response to youth and caregivers seeking assistance. This
involves on-site phone triage and de-escalation and follow up care to
ensure increased safety, stability, and linkage to community, health,
educational, social, and mental health resources. Some positions will
provide an in-person response as well. Additionally, the Urgent Response
Therapist provides clinical assessment and referral.
Must possess a Master’s degree from an accredited school of Social
Work, Counseling or Psychology and be licensed (or registered) with the
California Board of Behavioral Sciences as an ACSW, APCC or AMFT.
Licensed as an LCSW, MFT or LPCC is preferred and may be required for
some positions.
Trainees may be considered for employment as long as they are within
60 days of graduation with an applicable Master’s degree and are
required to be registered with the BBSE within 120 days of employment.
One year of direct practice experience working with seriously
disturbed children, adolescents, and families, and experience in
engaging parents as partners and working successfully with families from
diverse ethnic and cultural groups is preferred.
Driving is an essential function of this job, and as such, employees
in this position will be required to furnish their own vehicle to be
used in the course of employment. A valid driver’s license and minimum
insurance coverage is required. Must be at least 21 years old.
