Where Have All The Children(Dx) Gone: DSM 5

Presentation Description

Explore the multiple changes that have occurred with the publication of the Diagnostic and Statistical Manual 5th Edition, May 2013. Discussion will include information about the new diagnostic categories that apply to children, resultant changes in childhood diagnosis, including the major changes that have occurred in many of these diagnoses, as well as the placement and location of the diagnosis with the DSM 5. Discussion will also include information about some of the different scales for the Autism Spectrum diagnostic category. Due to time limits only those diagnosis concerning children will be discussed.

Gabrielle M. Guedet, Ph.d., MFT is a long standing clinical memeber of AAMFT, an Approved AAMFT Supervisor, and presently serves as a member of the Political Action Advisory Committee for AAMFT-CA. Dr. Guedet, MFT was privileged to participate in some of the Research Trials for the APA concerning the new manual.
