Presented by Lisa Larson, LMFT

3 CEUs for LMFTs, LCSWs, LPCCs, and/or LEPs

This course will set you apart as a therapist. As you learn a results-driven intake process, developed over 25 years, you will become a warrior in expediting your clients healing by monitoring measurable goals each week. Every client deserves to know that you understand their goals and have a plan and a process to assure they will accomplish them. As you upgrade your intake, your outcomes will improve dramatically.

Attendees will learn to do a comprehensive Intake with every client by assessing the five most important areas and determining how the client wants to grow. They will learn to measure each client’s goals at the onset of therapy and throughout the therapeutic process until all goals have been met and the client is ready to graduate.

LEARNING OBJECTIVES

    • Understand and identify the 5 most important areas to assess while using the Lisa Larson Intake Method.
    • Differentiate between the 3 formal assessments used during the Lisa Larson Intake Method.
    • Identify and observe the 9 steps involved in completing an Intake Plan using the Lisa Larson Intake Method.

Presentation Goals

This presentation teaches participants to utilize a results-driven process to get to know their clients. They will learn to do a comprehensive Intake with every client by assessing the five most important areas, which will enable them to determine if the client is on track for their goals and growth as well as identify how to tell when the client is ready to graduate.

About the Presenter

Lisa Larson has been a licensed Marriage and Family Therapist for over twenty years. After seven years in private practice doing Solution Focused therapy, Lisa experienced a traumatic event that transformed the course of her life as well as her therapeutic orientation. No amount of talk therapy worked.

Lisa sought out and was trained in the most powerful trauma modalities known. She was trained by the founder of EMDR and later trained with the creator of Brainspotting, Dr. David Grand. She immediately recognized the power and effectiveness of Brainspotting as she witnessed her severely traumatized clients heal quickly and permanently. She learned that her years as a talk therapist were missing the most crucial piece required to heal those with trauma, the deepest regions of the brain where trauma is stored.

A dream was born in Lisa. She was determined to do something about the unnecessary suffering of the traumatized. She opened Pacific Counseling and Trauma Center in Folsom, CA in 2012 and became a Brainspotting Trainer to teach other therapists how to bring lasting relief to their traumatized clients. She is passionate about teaching Brainspotting and letting the world know that trauma and PTSD are not something you have to live with. Brainspotting makes freedom, peace, and joy possible, even for the most severely traumatized.

As part of her process, Lisa developed the Lisa Larson Intake Method, which gives clients a roadmap of their traumas and goals so that they can achieve the eventual outcome of graduation from therapy.
