Workshop Information:

Thirty million Americans will experience an eating disorder at some time in their lives, yet the majority do not receive the specialized treatment needed to treat this potentially life-threatening disease. The impacts of Covid-19 have lead to increases in disordered eating and worsening of symptoms among those with eating disorders. This presentation will provide an overview of eating disorders diagnostic criteria, risk factors, how to screen for and treat eating disorders, and when to refer to higher levels of care. Clinical management of eating disorders during Covid-19 will be discussed, and case examples will be shared. By the conclusion of this presentation, participants will gain new insights into the management of clients with eating disorders.
