About Me
I am a trauma informed therapist. working with adolescents, indivduals, families and groups. I work primarily out of a Family Systems framework and specialize in PTSD/CPTSD, grief/loss, addiction/recovery, codependency, anxiety, stress management and life transitions.

Most of my work centers around the principle of stimulus --> response. Something happens and we react, usually unconsciously. My roadmap for therapy is directed at widening that micromoment between a stimulus and a response. By attuning with awareness to that space between stimulus and response, we make intentional choices to respond rather than just the knee-jerk, conditioned reaction.

I had an introduction to this space between stimulus and choosing a response. It happened to me in my early 20s when I got sober. By then, I had already blown up my life and faced severe consequences due to my risky behaviors, questionable decisions, and downright bad choices.

I didn’t ever set out to intentionally complicate my life, but I kept blowing through the proverbial stop sign with fingers crossed that I didn’t create much wreckage.

I noticed significant changes and experienced actual results in my life when I started paying attention. So profound was this personal power and recovery that I naïvely decided to dedicate myself to education and training to get some credentials behind my name.

In 1991, I graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in Speech Communication from the University of Arizona and hit my addiction bottom around the same time. I graduated from Saint Louis University with a Masters’s in Counselor Education with a Clinical Marriage and Family Therapy specialization in 1997. I earned my School Counseling Credential in 2006 so that I could work in public schools as a Counselor & Mental Health Clinician. I postponed full LMFT licensure, so that I could focus on raising our children, and returned to clinical work in 2014.

I am a private pay, out-of network clinician providing superbills for reimubursements. However, I serve First Responders and their families through CONCERN EAP. I am currently accepting new clients. Call today at 530-208-9424.

Practice Info
I am a licensed Marriage Family Therapist and credentialed School Counselor with over 25 years of clinical and school experiences. In my early 20's, after several years of bad choices, questionable decisions and serious consequences, I finally surrendered those risky behaviors and completely overhauled my lifestyle and value system. Since that time, I have dedicated myself to helping teens, young adults, individuals and families to live intentionally while navigating tumultuous and tricky life transitions that appear necessary in the human experience.
